Below are examples of such projects that i have either lead on or contributed to

March- April 2006
Royal Academy of Arts, London. China: The Three Emperor’s Exhibition

My brief was to promote and market the exhibition, with an aim to engage the Chinese community UK wide. This involved Publicising and marketing events,  public relations by engaging with Chinese networks and groups.

From Twelve Beauties at Leisure Painted for Prince Yinzhen, the Future Yongzheng Emperor, late Kangxi period (between 1709 and 1723)

I worked with the marketing department and organised a special successful private view.
The outputs were successful and engaged the specific target audience.

Round table discussion, Beyond Dim Sum, Dragons and Lanterns

The case for supporting Chinese, East Asian, Arts, Heritage & Creative Industries in London at the National Portrait Gallery, 28 March 2006.


GLA: Round table discussion @ National Portrait Gallery

Commissioned to research and organise a one day Roundtable conference debate, a discussion with stake holders from Funders, Arts Council England, the national cultural institutions and audiences selected from the Chinese cultural and business community.  High profile organisations participated in the debate. These  included, Arts Council of England, British Film Institute, ICA, inIVA, Tate Gallery, V & A and Film London and. I was responsible for inviting a selection of individuals from the Chinese community to contribute to the debate.  The event successfully led to the forming of the first Chinese and East Asian Steering group and the production of a strategic report.

Rivercultures Festival : February 2006 ongoing.

Researching and curating an exhibition on water, the Docklands area- Canary Wharf.

Water and Sight, Nothings Stays the Same Aug 2006. The event will take  place over a weekend  For the August 2006 Rivercultures Festival season in Canary Wharf. The project is part of a successful programme that has taken place for several years.

Clarion Contemporary Art and Campbell’s Art Gallery

Curated and produced contemporary exhibition, work of 7  British Chinese Artist, Transition, Clarion Contemporary Art, a solo artist, Qu Lei Lei  A Moment inTime, Campbell’s Art Gallery. 

This exhibition was part of the Mayor of London’s China in London Season . As an independent curator I initiated and researched selected artists, commissioning to  present recent and new work. The project was aimed at enhancing the profile of British artists of Chinese descent. Radio media and press interviews were given to the BBC and Eastern Arts Review.

Greater London Authority-Events and Culture Team

China in London Season-Cultural, Heritage and Film events

Commissioned to support delivery of the largest Chinese New Year 2006 events and activities for The Mayor of London’s office, that has ever been hosted. I provided project management supporting, coordinated partnerships with national institutions and organisations strategically. This involved coordinating the publicity and activities from the visual and performing arts and new year celebrations.


GLA: Chinese Cuisine Week, April 2006

In March 2006, I organized a main event at City Hall, Oral History and the Chinese in London event and this attracted over 300 people. I was also involved with contributing to the China in London launch and opening, on the Beijing Photographic Exhibition and the opening of China in London Season, attracting 300 guests from the business and private sector. The event was a success and helped to raise the profile and visibility of Chinese arts and culture. I contributed by encouraging strategic and audience  development, gave publicity and marketing advise and sat on the ‘The China in London’ steering committee,
